Their wide ranging concept of jazz, fascination with rhythmic sequences and abstract vocals, experimentation and constant search for the sound of interweaving cultures form the basis of the Zabelov Group‘s approach to music and its implementation. Belarusian accordionist Roman Zabelov and Czech drummer, conservatoire graduate, composer of stage music and multinstrumentalist Jan Šikl met in 2012. It was only on last year’s album Eg that their avant-garde style connected into their current form. Their original acoustic puritanism gradually became a complex mix of cinematic music and interconnected samples and their acoustic instruments extended to electronics. The spontaneous and subtle handling of the momentary mood makes each performance a very unique experience.
